Data entry is a diverse field in terms of the people who work in this area. Individuals with different qualifications can secure jobs in Data entry. Employers however prefer to recruit people with demonstrated skills in information technology. The CV should reflect the ability to work with different word processors and competence with statistical packages such as excel and SPSS.

Typing Speed is crucial in data entry and should be demonstrated within your CV through your professional experience, educational background or achievements by stating that you were involved in work, projects or any other activity that involves typing e.g. working as an administrative assistant. When applying for a data entry job, you need not have experience that is specific to the data entry field.
